Chagra farming. The cycle of the land

Ancestral knowledge of indigenous communities offers us myriad teachings on biodiversity and sustainability.

Criollo is a staunch champion of the chagra farming system; an area of land on which to grow crops that generates fertility, socialisation and the passing on of knowledge within indigenous communities in the Amazon. A link between man and nature that Aníbal Criollo conveys to his cooking that is based on the traditional recipes from his land and of his people, the Quillasinga.

During his talk he will present produce from various farming initiatives, as well as discussing the healthy food of his land and the role that Quillasinga women play in social innovation, caring for the natural environment, educating consumers, and the importance of remembering the biocultural legacy of different peoples.
