Madrid Fusión 2020 comes of age with record participation

Madrid Fusión closes its 18th edition with more than 2,000 congress participants and 13,000 visitors.

Reale Seguros Madrid Fusión 2020 closed its doors this afternoon after three days during which it was the focal point of world gastronomic interest. More than 300 professionals were spread across its seven stages to bring together a unique congress activity, which for the first time included the MIP (Madrid International Pastry) congress, the first international congress in Spain dedicated to pastry making, baking and chocolate, held in Hall 14 and 14.1 of the Ifema Convention Centre.

This was because this year, the year it came of age, Madrid Fusión changed its venue, gaining space to expand its exhibition area, allowing it to host 230 companies for the first time, a record number for the congress. Besides, Reale Seguros Madrid Fusión 2020 was attended by more than 2,000 conference participants and 13,000 visitors.

Interest was divided between the main stage, which hosted presentations by some of the best chefs in the world – Koji Kimura, Isabella Potí, Luca Dani García, Luke Dale Roberts, Vicky Cheng, Joan Roca, Ángel León, Andoni Luis Aduriz, Dabiz Muñoz and Italian three-star chef Niko Romito, who also won the European Chef of the Year Competition – the Multi-purpose Hall, which put on around thirty presentations, and the rooms used for the educational workshops, while the public interacted by browsing through the products offered by 230 brands that occupied the hall. They also enjoyed Enofusión and The Drinks Show, two additional parallel activities during the congress.

During the course of the final day, the name of the new Revelation Chef was announced, in this case, a female Revelation Chef, as the title was awarded to Camila Ferraro, a 32-year-old chef at the Sobretablas restaurant in Seville. She is the first woman to win the award.
