Eight renowned cooks by sustainibility win Chef of the Year Award
Andoni L. Aduriz, Rodrigo de la Calle, Ricard Camarena, Xavier Pellicer, Ignacio Echapresto, Javier Olleros, Fernando del Cerro and Luis Callealta. ‘Green activists’ is how Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España has defined this group of cooks who ‘have understood the gastronomic potential of the plant world and elevated it to showcase its great value.’
Silestone® by Cosentino returns to Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España, one of the world’s most important gastronomy congresses, which for the first time ever will be held simultaneously in-person and online. Cosentino – a Spanish multinational – wishes to be part of the new post-Covid reality of the culinary world, and does so via its Silestone® brand, the global leader in kitchen worktops.
Silestone® is sponsoring the Chef of the Year Award, one of the most important awards of the congress. This year, instead of being awarded to just one chef it will be presented to eight at the same time: Andoni L. Aduriz, Rodrigo de la Calle, Ricard Camarena, Xavier Pellicer, Ignacio Echapresto, Javier Olleros, Fernando del Cerro and Luis Callealta. ‘Green activists’ is how Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España has defined this group of cooks who, according to the organisation, ‘have understood the gastronomic potential of the plant world and elevated it to showcase its great value.’
This 19th edition of the official awards ceremony, which Cosentino has sponsored since 2014, will take place on 1 June at 14:00 in the main auditorium. Santiago Alfonso, Cosentino Group’s Vice-President of Communications and Corporate Reputation will present the prize. ‘When we heard of the decision that this was going to be a joint recognition – that is so well deserved – we were overjoyed. A number of these cooks have been great friends of Cosentino for a long time. We’re so proud to have sponsored this award at each edition, but this year we’re even more so. We’re rewarding the effort and work of a gastronomy that is committed to the planet and is sustainable, so I see no better ally for this award than the Silestone® brand for which sustainability, circularity and responsibility are not just part of a slogan, but a reality,’ affirms Santiago Alfonso.
Cosentino has been taking part in Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España for fourteen editions as a sponsor and official supplier of kitchen worktops. This year, Silestone® will be at the congress with its new corporate image that will captivate the best Spanish and international professionals in the world of gastronomy. The kitchens used for cooking demonstrations will feature various Silestone® Sunlit Days worktops, introducing innovative colours that the brand will be launching onto the market in June. Their design, qualities and features will not fail to surprise.
