Madrid Fusión and Alimentos de España come together to champion Spanish food throughout the world

 

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will support Madrid Fusion – the most important gastronomy congress in the world – via an agreement that makes Alimentos de España (Foods od Spain) the main sponsor of the event, whose aim is to strengthen the popularity, visibility and awareness of Spanish produce and products and its food industry. It will also serve to promote the consumption of Spanish produce and products within Spain, emphasising the variety and quality of our foods. The 19th edition of this annual event, which has expanded its programme with more activities and stages, is now called Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España. The sponsorship agreement will cover the next three editions.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will thus be the main sponsor of the congress, and its brand – Alimentos de España – will appear on the logo of the event and be visible at places such as meeting points to be set up in each pavilion. In addition, Alimentos de España will sponsor a round-table discussion on Spanish produce and products. A new joint award will also be created for the restaurant that offers the most Spanish menu or that works in the best interest of local growers and producers.

Via this agreement, Madrid Fusión is continuing along the path begun in 2003 to become the largest gastronomy congress in the world and, at the same time, be an emblem of the potential of Spain’s agri-food sector. For three days, from 31 May to 2 June, IFEMA (Madrid’s Fair and Congress Centre) will host the 19th edition of the event, the first to be held simultaneously in-person and also with all presentations offered online via the event’s digital platform (www.madridfusion.net). Registration is now open, both for in-person and online attendance.

The programme has now been finalised, and Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España 2021 will feature more than 100 speakers, 43 activities in the auditorium, 12 workshops, 35 activities in the multi-purpose room (including 8 competitions) and 20 activities at MF The Wine Edition, a new congress that seeks to discover new trends and new talents in the world of wine. The 18th edition of the congress enjoyed over 2,000 congress-goers, 13,000 visitors and the participation of 230 companies in the exhibition area – an all-time record.

Alimentos de España

Via the concept of Alimentos de España, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has set out an ambitious strategy to highlight the quality of Spanish food and to invigorate its enormously varied agri-food and fishing sectors. The campaigns focus on produce and product promotion, and aim to give added value to the best foods in order to convey good habits through the consumption of Spanish produce and products within Spain.

Alimentos de España also wishes to contribute to recognising the work of entities, entrepreneurs and professionals who have distinguished themselves by producing, making, marketing and offering consumers quality food, in particular those that use advanced and environmentally friendly methods and technologies.

The sponsorship agreement includes the participation of Alimentos de España in the Latin American version of this event, Bogotá Madrid Fusión. The agreement will last for three years, starting with this edition and ending in 2023, and the brand will be visible on the logo and in the exhibition spaces of both congresses.
